Title: Director Policy and Research Affairs

Job description:  Design and conduct research on social behavior, social determinants of health of children and family services, child abuse and neglect and social policy. Teach and conduct training on parenting education and social policy issues to community residents, community based organizations, and master and doctoral-level fellow and interns/practicum. Lead daily management including and managing personnel. Resource development, research and program evaluation. Directly supervise and coordinate research personnel and develop a portfolio for research of children and family issues. Supervise train and manage agency personnel to achieve organizational and programmatic goals including supervision of masters-level students (social worker, marriage and family therapists) and psychologists (doctoral level). Develop counseling and therapy program and measure outcomes. Conduct grant writing and outreach tasks for publications and shorter policies such as articles, policy analysis, policy briefs or reports and opinion pieces. Conduct public and private discussions, raise money for research projects, through general fundraising and grant writing.

Requirements: Extensive knowledge and experience in non-profit management and regulations, foster care, adoptions, social policy, social welfare, children and family services in California. Demonstrate track record in resources development and fundraising including successful grant writing. Extensive experience in program development, program evaluation, and developing logic model advanced training in research methodologies including participatory research.

Experience: 5 years experience required. Bilingual preferred.

Education: PhD, sociology / social policy / research
